There are quite a number of hotels in Colorado Springs but only a few that can/will satisfactorily meet the needs and or requirements of our group. The Reunion will be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado on Thursday the 7th, Friday the 8th Saturday the 9th of September, 2006 with departure date of Sunday the 10th. Remember, this is football season and the Academy Hotel is the Host Hotel for the Air Force Academy Football Team.
As I understand it, the Football Schedule will not be out until Feb. We could not wait until the Football Schedule
is released as some of our folks have to give a 12 month notice/request for Vacation Time. Also, this way,
whether you wanted to attend a game or not, everyone has the same odds. And by choosing a random date before the
release of the Schedule, we do not have to worry about availability and/or rates as they are preset and contracted.
LADIES DAY OUT: Saturday morning back in early afternoon, For those of you who have heard those “war stories” a hundred times or more we have planned an outing just for us on Saturday. The Chocolate Factory, located in Old Colorado City has rolled out the welcome mat and will host a “tasting party” and offer us a discount on any purchases. Afterwards, there will be ample time to explore the nearby antique and specialty shops. There are small cafes and restaurants should anyone care to stop for lunch. We will return in plenty of time to get ready for the banquet. Because we will need to arrange for transportation, we are asking that you contact Linda Gray via email by clicking Ladies Day Out. to sign up for this outing. Please indicate if you would be willing to volunteer as a driver and how many passengers you would be able to accommodate.
Linda and Leroy have asked me to post a deadline of July 31st for signing up for the Ladies Day Out.
