The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration Commemorative Partner (CP) program is designed for federal, state and local communities, veterans' organizations and other nongovernmental organizations to assist a grateful nation in thanking and honoring our Vietnam Veterans and their families. Commemorative Partners are encouraged to participate in the Commemoration of the Vietnam War by planning and conducting events and activities that will recognize Vietnam Veterans and their families' service, valor, and sacrifice.
The EC-47 History Site coordinated with interested community organizations to form a committee. Our application was approved effective May 18, 2015. Committee members include: The San Angelo Heritage Chapter - Freedom Through Vigilance Association; West Texas Collection and Department of History, Angelo State University; The All Veterans Council of Tom Green County; The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 457 of the Concho Valley; The ELKS USA Lodge #1880; and The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce. We appreciate all of the committee members and look forward to working together to continue recognizing, thanking and commemorating all Vietnam War veterans, with a special emphasis on EC-47 ARDF veterans and their families.
Our first Commemoration Partner after-event report was sent out on June 1, 2015. It has highlights and photos from ceremonies held at the EC-47 ARDF History Exhibit and at Angelo State University. The first and subsequent After Action Report are available at these links:
